Holy Baptism is especially appropriate at the Easter Vigil (which falls on April 7 in 2007); on the Day of Pentecost (which falls on June 4 in 2006 and on May 27 in 2007); on All Saints' Sunday (which falls on Nov. 5 in 2006 and Nov. 4 in 2007); or on The Feast of the Baptism of our Lord. This is the first Sunday after the Epiphany and falls on Jan. 7 in 2007.
Baptisms are also scheduled for the second Sunday of each month at both the 9 and 11 a.m. services. During the summer, baptisms take place at the 10 a.m. service. Baptisms may also be scheduled at the 7:45 a.m. service and the 5 p.m. services.
Please contact the parish administrator to obtain a baptism registration form and to reserve a date on the St. Paul's calendar for the Sacrament of Baptism. Please know that all names will be included in the Register of Baptisms, which is the parish's historical record. The official record requires full names of infants, parents, and godparents.
For information on adult baptisms, please contact the Rev. Scott West.
On the first Sunday of the month in which your baptism is scheduled, we hold a class led by one our Baptismal Counselors. These counselors are parents and members of the congregation who will meet with you to explain the logistics of when to stand, where to move, and what to say. Most important, they will help both parents and godparents more fully understand the significance of their intention to suppport the child by prayer and example in their Christian life.
While the celebration of the Sacrament of Baptism is a joyous occasion, please remember it is also a holy ceremony. We request that you refrain from taking any photographs during the worship hour. An opportunity to take family pictures will be made available at the completion of the service.
